I have been trying to figure out what is sqeaking in the front of my car. The squeak occurs when going in and out of drive ways (wheels turned or straight) and the same squeak occurs when getting on the brakes (I only notice this at low speeds and light braking). So I parked the car and opened the hood with the wheels completely straight. I started pushing on the car, jouncing the suspension, and no squeak. So then I turn my wheels close to full lock but not all the way (so it does not hit the steering stops as they will obviously make noise). And sure enough I get the same squeak from both the left and right side when i jounce that particular side. I am not sure where to look or what to lubricate etc.
I would think its bushings, but the bushings should squeak with the wheels straight as well. I was thinking about spraying the bushings (upper and lower A-arms as well as the ARB) with silicone lubricant but I dont want to spray things unneccasarily.
After searching around I couldnt find a post that seemed to describe what i am talking about. Hopefully somebody may know. As for background on the car it is a 92 with 88,800 on the clock, the car handles perfectly - so i suspect the bushings may be old but definitely not worn out.
