Actually neither of those links has the answer. Sad really because it is an easy answer.

Step 1: Remove the plastic undertray inside the hatch
Step 2: Remove the bolts/screws holding the wing on the hatch - only the center section is necessary
Step 3: In the center post remove the single screw holding the LED bar and trim plate in place
Step 4: Disconnect the connection to the LED bar
Step 5: Slide the LED bar and trim plate out
Step 6: Remove 3 or 4 screws holding the trim plate to the LED bar

To reinstall LED bar reverse these steps replacing remove and disconnect with install and connect.

A small flashlight may be helpful to locate the head of the screw in the center pilar of the wing. You can also just feel around with the head of your screwdriver - just be sure you aren't wearing a condom as it cuts down on sensitivity. :)

The fun part is actually getting a replacement as you can't just replace the burnt out LEDs... those things are $$$$$$$$$$$
