Non-words are also annoying. Irregardless and alot come to mind. The opposite of a little is a lot. Not alot. Regardless means either way. So if irregardless was a word, it would mean only one way possible. The list of internet slang is too long to deal with it. I'm not a grammar major either, but the internet has sunk to new lows.

Irregardless is a word that many mistakenly believe to be correct usage in formal style, when in fact it is used chiefly in nonstandard speech or casual writing. Coined in the United States in the early 20th century, it has met with a blizzard of condemnation for being an improper yoking of irrespective and regardless and for the logical absurdity of combining the negative ir– prefix and –less suffix in a single term. Although one might reasonably argue that it is no different from words with redundant affixes like debone and unravel, it has been considered a blunder for decades and will probably continue to be so.

Irregardless is just like an oxymoron.. ;)
I hate "ATM Machine" and "TPS Sensor"

Also, when people say "I could care less". Of COURSE you could care less. Big deal.... It's when you couldn't care less that makes it like "wow, that guy does NOT care one bit!"...

One of my pet peeves is "hot water heater" - if the water is hot, you don't need to heat it...

It's a water heater.

Heh this thread was probably on the account that I started posting again. I cannot spell for my life when typing. I’m usually 3 letters ahead of my fingers and thus a mistake is born. I'm going to runt his through spell check to see how carefully I typed.

Forgot the N in account. See going slower helps!

I want somebody to use "irregardless" in a sentence.

PIN number, VIN number, CAC card

It isn't just like, as it isn't an oxymoron at all. But if it were a word, it would follow the idea, hence....almost.

I hate it when people put an apostrophe (showing ownership) when there shouldn't be one...like "I like to eat Grape's" when it should be "Grapes".

"Irreguardless of the fact that I like Supras, I like to eat grapes":naughty:
