my speedometer went out and no one can give me a straight answer on what is wrong with it also my odometer and trip miles have also have stopped working can someone please help

Well, um let's see. Process of elimination. Crawl under the car to see if the cable came undone from the transmission. No? Pull the instrument cluster and check the connection back there. Undo it from the tranny and spin the shaft. Have someone sit in the car to see if the shaft is spinning where it plugs into the cluster. If not the cable is broke. Worst case scenerio is the speedo gear in the tranny.

there are two pieces, inspect them both and determine which is messed up.

It's USUALLY the shorter section that goes into the tranny, but you'll have to check...
