My speedo is off by 4mph at all speeds. It reads 4 mph fast.
When I am going 80 it reads 84.
Is there a way to fix/correct the problem?
Its not a tire size issue as the speed is always off by 4mph unlike when you change the tire or gear ratio.

Take the guage cluster apart and fix it until it reads correctly. Have someone drive next to you with a correct working spedometer and tell you their speed. If you want to be lazy (I did this when I hit mine with my finger while changing the tach and didn't realize it till after I put the cluster back together and in the car) i bent a paperclip so I could stick it in the hole in the plastic cluster cover and slowly pulled the needle down just enough to fix what I had done because mine was reading about 5 mph fast also. Be careful not to adjust it too much, because then you will HAVE to take the cluster apart to fix it.

I have a GPSRD Radar detector that reads out my speed.
I have a hand held GPS also.
Problem with them is they don't work/work well in the canyon or when its very cloudy from a big storm.

WHen you take apart the cluster and adjust are you just moving the needle or bending it?

If the speedo is always off by the same amount, move the needle. If the speedo is off by a percentage you'll need to recalibrate it. There's a thread around here somewhere with the details.

SWEET! Another of my many problems fixed!! The list is still long though.

The State Troopers are bringing everyone out in my area. Even the cops behind desks have to patrol this week, and they wrote 6,000 tickets Monday ALONE!!! My speedo was reading 85mph when I was actually only going 70mph, but I would get nervous and go 70mph according the the speedo, which put me going 55 to 60mph. Better safe than sorry I guess. LOL I didn't get a ticket, but everyone was passing me.
