speed o meter dont work

how do you tell if the top speedometer cable is broke or the bottom portion?
or if its the sensor itself?

Put a drill on the end at the transmission, counter clock wise, speedometer should register.

It's a mechanical connection, off.

Just did this last week to test mine. My lower half failed.

I had to give the drill a bit more speed than I thought it might take to register, but my buddy said the speedo jumped to about 30.

yeah, don't forget the car doesn't register speeds under 10mph, so put that drill on full blast!!!
