I bought a spec twin disc clutch for my 88 turbo 7mgte.Got it from horsepowerfreaks.com Kirk was exetremly helpful through my purchase,It arrive on 8-7-11,I am the owner/operator of a ase master certified auto repair facility since 03,worked at chevy, cad, buick, olds, gmc, nissan new car dealership as a heavy line tech since 96.(i know this is getting long ,but read on so you do make the same mistake!!!i installed my new 1680 $ clutch the next day and guess what it wont disengage, took it back apart 3 times double checked every thing,I had a machine shop make a .125 thick spacer for the throwout bearing, still it didn't work. I called spec, they asked if i installed correrct told them yes and that i was a tech (jeremy) said i must have done something wrong ,but i could send it back and they would look at it.90 $ later they have it in 3 days, The clutch shows back up 1 week later (same one) called and asked what had happen, I was told they had had 2 designed floaters and that they had built my clutch with the wrong one,THEIR FAULT asked about my hunderd bucks to ship and was told sorry thats the way it is, i also had to heat the flywheel in a turkey fryer till it was 200 degres so it would fit on the crank. My advice would be to NEVER BUY SPEC ANYTHING ,they have exstremly bad customer service, wish i would have spent 200 or 300 hunder more for th os clutch. Thanks Tim:: angry ::

I'd just file a BBB claim against spec.

PS: PLEASE seperate into multiple paragraphs next time, having everything slammed together like that makes it very hard to read.

I dont think that the problem is with spec, i think that HPF is to blame.

How so? All they did was sell a part that was provided to them from another manufacturer. They couldn't have possibly known that. Unless someone else has bitched about it already. Which I doubt.

So please tell me how it is their fault?

Enraged has the right idea, it's not their fault but the customer is unhappy, so a stored credit would be a good thing to get from hpf.
