If there is one made for a JZ I maybe in for one as well. Just the 820ft/lb one though, I believe on that one both clutch disks are sprung?? I do not want any solid ones.

Thanks for brining this to the MKIII Supra community.

I'll likely end up buying one of these, but I'm in no rush, the setup I have in there now holds the power I have and is still brand new.

I'm in more or less the same boat. Clutch is just broken in and I rarely drive the car. I hope this setup will be around for a while.

Tooling my man, I can tell you it is not easy!

Simply because about two and a half years ago. I pursued what duane did but with different companies.

RPS
ATI (Carbonetics now)
Exedy

etc and they all basically said the same thing. JZ has eight holes while the 7m has staggered 6. How hard is to change? Extremly hard as the tooling needs to be changed and if the demand is not there... then most will not do it. Regardless if they had my cash in hand (RPS I am looking at you and my $2800 fiasco!!).

Your welcome and a thanks to Sean too :) They are working on one as Sean also pointed out.

All the Super Twin kits have a sprung and unsprung disk.

The difference between all as far as drive ability:

To clarify something here. Spec has no feedback on this clutch other than the one I have so the answers are based on same clutch on a different car. I can say that my clutch has 25% more pedal feel than OEM and is great. The engagement is also great. :icon_bigg

The 820 RWTQ unit has full face disks. It will have a "slight" better drive ability than the one I have but only slight and won't last as long due to being made out of softer material. My suggestion is to buy the one I have as it's the same price. The clutch after mine will be made from yet another harder material and the one after that has iron disks. You can only imagine what that will be like.

If any has any more questions, feel free, as I have been dealing with Spec for over 8 months on this stuff. Sean can also help if I am not here.

PS: I will be driving the car when the next nice day comes around before it goes under construction.

i will pm you when i get home. but its not as easy as it sounds, there is machining, labor, assembly, etc thats goes into these things. plus there has to be interest, that people would want to buy it, then they have to make a run of the flywheels. they dont just say hey, lets make 5 clutchs and thats it. i could go on and on, but im sure you guys know how the system works.

hmm.. sean this vs the carbonetic twin, what would be better for a 750whp 2jz with fairly heavy drag use (probably more like 600whp drag racing, but maybe a few times full tilt c16 30 psi)

i like the spec better, since it comes with so much more, and is o much cheaper. i have been working with spec (along with duane) for this clutch, so i think it will be a much better clutch..

Update: I drove my car to paint shop this past week and have to say, even when I was stuck in rush hour traffic, it wasn't bad at all! :icon_bigg The clutch feels great so plus one thus far for drive ability.
