Spec stage 5!?!?!

I'm browsing clutch kits nowadays since I sold my spec stage 3 rated at 520 ft lbs. Anyhow I'll exceed that. So I was looking at stage 5 rated at 710 ft lbs. Sounds better but Any other ideas of a clutch kit that can atleast hand 600 ft lbs and not slip? nothing outrageously over priced... 800.00+ or atleast under 1k.

Anyone with any experience on spec stage 5???

i called SPEC the othe day and spoke with a tech rep for about 30mins. i'm having clutch issues as well. i told him my setup and that i'm gunning for 600rwhp+. He *ASSURED* me that the new stage 3+ would do the job.

i guess everything has been redesigned and this clutch is suppose to be the shit. i'm going to give it a try. HPF has them for 630$

Be careful. Spec reps "speak with forked tongue!" I run an RPS Maxx 3200 pressure plate and a HPF bronze disc and it drives great on the street and has handled everything I've thrown at it, so far. The set up cost 730.00 but is well worth it. I also have an ACT plate and a HPF bronze disc in Willie's and it has done well and cost 630.00. Definitely run a braided clutch line though whatever you go with.

Mine took 30 or so launches at 5500 rpm this past year at the track and 40 or so dyno pulls. Never had an issue with my RPS PP, but I have heard that the RPS disc's are alittle rough to deal with. This is why I went the HPF bronze disc route. It has been proven to over 800 ft/lbs by HPF's.

None of your fucking business
I have the RPS 3200lb with a full face feramic disc. Just breaking everything in now so I have no experience. It is an on/off clutch though. I love it :evil2:

I was just wondering what bad things people have heard:aigo:

Willie's ACT PP/ HPF bronze has done 500 rwtq @ 21 psi so far and has been daily driven at 450 rwtq for over a year now. Nice set up, but I was told by HPF's that the RPS plate was the strongest that is why I bought it.

I'm running the HPF bronze clutch with the ACT pressure plate. It was running great until the disk welded itself to the flywheel during a second gear burnout. I'm going to try using the steel flywheel instead of the aluminum one this time. Maybe the the HPF disk doesn't work well with the aluminum flywheel material.

time for me to do more research. like i said i'm going on my 5th clutch and i'm need one that will do 600rwhp+. i'll be calling spec again and also HPF.

on a side note, i run a South Bend right now (feramic) and it's not holding. they want to work me and send it back. i don't think i want to do that.

also i found out when running harsh materials like feramic you have to run a steel flywheel. south bend stressed that to me. alumiuim is too soft.

as ive said before, sean's setup is by far the best ive ever driven. it held everything i gave it yet turning around in a parking lot was super smooth. no on/off switch, no chatter, just well behaved for a disc that can hold that much power.
agreed, the pp does take some getting used to, but it wasnt as bad as i expected it to be. altho i am 6'2 and 215lbs and thinks the stock clutch feels broken haha. so take that fwiw.
