I was wondering what it would cost for you all to make a multi disk setup
for 1987-1992 turbo supras.

response

It is in prototyping right now and should be ready in the next week or two.
All billet top to bottom.. Up to 1500 ft lbs tq capacity and it drives
like stock. There will be 4 trim levels. Get back to us in a week or so
for more details. Thanks,

i dont like spec. the clutch or the people.

i wouldnt be surprised if cost is around $1 per 1ft/lb

why do you need such a serious clutch anyway?

No problem bud. I am still waiting on the first clutch and I am the guy that will be testing it. Mine will be the first to go in a Supra. Yes the clutch will be badass and hope to get it soon! They are working on the release bearing which was why mine was delayed an extra couple of weeks.

I will make a post/thread of what it looks and feels like once I get it.

This will bolt to the stock 7M flywheel?

Not sure but why? The entire assembly/set-up will come with everything needed including a flywheel :biglaugh:

Again, I will make a thread once I get it in my hands. :)

Damn, that is a lot of torque capacity! If i was staying 7M then that'd be my clutch. Almost makes me want to keep the 7M, but i'll be putting in an ORC w/ the 2J

A strong, smooth engagement clutch for the R154 would be very nice indeed.

Keep us posted. (MY RPS six puck is brutal, and not much fun in traffic, or on slight hills, especially when backing up..)

And that is with the sprung hub option.

yeah tell me about it, though reverse isn't that bad yet,

though the tranny just junked the thrust washer for first/second??

I'm waiting to, so I can sell the beauties :)

Had caught wind of it a few weeks back from SPEC.

I have been working on the new design for them for over 4 months. Once I get the first clutch, test it and all is ok, you will then be able to sell them :) I am looking forward in beating on the car to test this clutch to the best of my ability :biglaugh:

Ah i see. So if i'm running the R154 w/ my 2J that means i have to use a 7M clutch? I thought i would have to run the 2J clutch.

It says its for a 7M and the flywheel is included. Unless they can provide the flywheel with a JZ bolt pattern it wont work.

well, what if i just want a twin disc...

how much TQ will a single disc with a clutch surface area for a 7M flywheel hold?

Andy from SBC told me he could make a pressure plate thats so stiff that one would be unable to press the clutch pedal

The stiffest pressure plate i bought from Clutchnet was rated for only 650tq.

anyone else know how much TQ current off-the-shelf single-disc's are rated for?

i suppose paying 2x as much as a single disc for double the tq capacity would be a "good deal" since itd most likely come with a new (product specific) flywheel just like a Tilton, OS giken or ORC does.

not to mention not completely KILLING your thust washers in your motor and forcing a rebuild...

IMHO much over 500HP and you should be running multiplate to keep your investment alive...
