You'll have to do a little trimming, but they can fit. Sorry I don't have a picks or anything, but it is as you would expect, grind away until the speaker fits flush.

I've swapped my 89 with the 91 boxes. You also have the change the grille or the pre 90 grille will be in the way of the 6.5" speaker.
the 4" 87-89 boxes can be modified but they are not deep enough to hold the 6.5" speaker properly.

Under the triangle window its 5 1/4"
in the seats facing the driver are 4"
Its gonna be tough fitting a 6 .5 Speaker in the strut housing. I think a 6" might fit. hard to find speakers 6" though. or 6.5 not oversized.

I took the door panel from the 91 but swapped the Leather insert with my stock 89 cloth one.
The 87-89 have the tweater in the door panel itself so it wont' look right.

Ok i had put the new speakers in but I dont think the wiring is right.. The alpines have 5 of those thing that you connect the speaker wires to and um i think my dad just geuss on it haha..sound comes out but there is absolutly no bass and if i put the balance to the front its still to quiet.
