Well i just had my head redone with new seals and new valve cover gasket that was just changed cause it was leaking. Maybe it isn't excessive blowby, just my turbo. How would i check for excessive blowby, do you do this with a manometer? Or what if i throw in an oil catch can?

You can check blowby using a manometer and comparing it to either a spec or a healthy engine. I'm not aware of a Toyo spec however. Still could be rings. Otherwise, put a catch can on it and be happy.

If he caps the PCV line going to the accordian where is the blowby going to go under boost? Into the TB? Guess again. Why do you suppose turbos have that line and N/As don't? Or that it's connected upstream of the turbo? And why would leaky valve covers cause oil in the combusion chamber? I'm confused...

Sorry, I didn't mean the line going to the accordian. I meant just capping off the part that goes to the TB. Stock there is a small rubber hose there.
The only thing I could see it being there for is to allow the turbo pressure to go through that line creating a vacuum to pick up more oil on it's way back to the accordian hose. I've seen many engine bay shots on here where people have this part capped and haven't seen any problems reported because of it.

The TB connection is for scavenging blowby when the intake is below ambient pressure, ie; no boost. Under those conditions the accordian line supplies fresh air for dilution.

Under boost the flow reverses and all blowby is sent to the accordian. This boost "leak" also helps to scavenge the valve covers by venturi effect. Think about blowing across the top of a bottle.

Since the PCV line going to the accoridan is upstream of the turbo there isn't enough negative pressure there when below boost to scavenge properly. Capping the TB port may not cause any apparent problems but it'll reduce scavenging when not boosting, which is how the engine runs 99% of the time (well, for most of you guys ;) ). The result will be more sludging and acid build up in the oil, especially if blowby is excessive.

Put simply, the TB port handles blowby when not boosted and the accordian line when boosted. This is why the turbo cars have the line and N/As don't. Forcing the accordian line to handle scavenging when not under boost doesn't work well but people do it anyway.

hmmm...my spark plugs that they must have put in the car after redoing the head are champion RC12PYP. I need to check to see if these are acceptable for the supra. I swapped them with autolites.

Yeah i changed em:icon_bigg Car seems like it runs better, but just a minute ago i had my neigbor drive my car while i was behind and it is smoking when he got on it and it smelled like shit. It wasn't a ton of smoke, but enough. It was dark in color by the way.

mine's doin the same right now...it's got oil in the 6th cyl, i think another one too...mine smokes when i first start it up then, when it warms up, it smoke a little and more when i gun it. my supra is also leaking oil (i'm pretty sure it's the valve cover gaskets since i can see oil in between the head and the valve cover).

i'm changing my plugs today, i have NGk Iridium and changin to Autolite coppers (3923).:icon_bigg

i had a leaky valve cover gasket that was just changed. I am burning oil for sure, i think my turbo is smoking, it has 96k on it. I am gonna pull out the 6th spark plug to see if it is full of oil, since i just changed the plugs. I should do it today.

how much are valve cover gaskets anyways?? and do they sell just the valve cover gaskets themselves? should i just get OEM(toyota) valve cover gaskets?

I just bought a new set from Jeff Watson at Champion Toyota, around $10 a pop. I also ordered new valve cover bolt washers (the ones with the runner backing that form into the hole of the valve cover).

On that note, I couldn't believe how clean my top end was, it looked like new and has 20k miles on it over 5 years!

Horsepowerfreaks sells a good set, or goto home depot match thread size and pitch and grab a set. YOu need 12 bolts all in all 6 on each valve cover.

My valve cover gaskets started leaking recently (oil in the spark plug galley)...and I think it's because i couldn't get even torque on the valve cover screws, because they are all stripped out...

Anyway, IIRC, the TSRM calls for 22in/lbs of torque on the valve cover screws...is there a special torque wrench for in/lbs? because I know mine is only for ft/lbs.
