Anyone running either of these two turbos, or somthing similar?
I'm pondering which one to get and would appreciate real world feedback and dynos. I also was looking at the sp67, but don't want to be limited to 650 whp. Anyone use Innovative turbos, theres a guy on ebay selling them cheap, and I wonder if they are decent. I am hoping to be in the 800-900 whp area. My 72mm turbo had too small of an exhaust side to make decent power, plus it suffered a bending death. I am also considering going to an auto trans, anyone know if there's a less expensive alternative to the ati kit.
mod list 89 turbo- ross pistons, shotpeened and polished rods, ARP rod bolts, main studs, head studs, crank scraper, cometic hg, 72mm turbo,46mm wg, ff intake w/q45 tb, ssqv, 1000cc injectors, afpr, walbro, customized fuel rail, evc4, TeinHAs, rps flywheel and clutch,Tec 2, LM1, LMA3, XD16

have you considered a gt42 or gt45? not sure what price range you were looking for or what your size limitations are.

as far as the auto. there are a few people that make adapter kits that bolt to the front pump. from there, you would just need a hybrid converter made.

btw, where are you located?

For 8-900rwhp, you better get some serious headwork and cams. And good luck on your stock rods holding up.

These are the two things of concern to me too. I'm planning a head build this winter, I have an extra. Does anyone really know the limitations of the rods though? Mine do have arp's and have the beams polished and peened.

I'd rather not spend $2000 on a turbo. More like $1500 or under.
I'm not so sold on the whole ball bearing thing either. approximatly $800 and of the turbo companies I've called they seem to be 50/50 as to whether it's really worth it.

who makes the kits that bolt to the front pump?
I was contemplating doing the "cut the bellhousing area and welding them togeither method"

Build your bottom end if you don't want to be limited to 650rwhp, you might be able to hit shy of that number on the stock bottom end before shredding things. As far at turbo goes I was going to go with an ITS gt72Q but I ended up going for a TO4r, both of which are in your price range if you can source them out. The 72 was a little aggressive for what I wanted so once the TO4r is maxed I'll go gt45r.. Good luck

Bottom end is built, as it states in the beginning. Just so it's known, I am not new to all of this, I've been on SF for a long time and here awhile. I just work a ton on my business and haven't had time to post here or there.
Thanks

ah i thought your name looked familiar.

williamb82 on here has the adapter for the tranny.

for what you are looking at performance and price id probably go w/ the non-bb gt42. right now the smallest a/r is a t4 1.01. but we are supposed to be getting the new .96 from pte some time in the future.
