I'm over-estimating a little just to be safe, since I don't want a clutch that will slip. High boost is 25psi (meth injection) which is ~500-550rwhp will be used when occassion calls for it, most of the time I'll be at ~450rwhp on pump gas. But, changing the clutch in a garage with sub-par tools is a PITA so I only want to do it once. The southbend appears to make better quality clutches compared to Spec, but I wanted a sprung 6 puck so I can change gears faster....then I read this:figgie said:550 rwtq daily?? what are you doing a smoke show?
short of drag radials no tire is going to grip at that power level. Especially for the 7m since the torque comes in low in the band.
With that said.
I run DXD-F without any issues.
Am I correct to think that racing with a Feramic based clutch disc will wear out the flywheel too fast?figgie said:well 6 p[uck is over rated. Right material and right pressure plate account for most of the grip. Full face as it won't chatter as much. Material wise. If you are not going to drag race, rferamic. If you are, forgo fermaic for other composites.

I may get a lightened act pp later on. But i won't need that for a good while. Not until I get another motor.oscolivar1 said:Dallas what PP plate are you using the...SPEC PP.
From what i have heard it doesn't go to 700ft/lbs TQ. From what Ive researched people dont get to the Tq that was suggested usually 30-40 below the suggested amount and this is for all the spec clutches 1-5.
If your change the PP it might. Maybe an ACT PP just my opinion.
nevermind. If it's slipping on 420ish whp... I may be in trouble.89jdm7m said:I may get a lightened act pp later on. But i won't need that for a good while. Not until I get another motor.
