Well I needed an excuse to start my rebuild, so now I got it! I think ill go with an RPS this time if I cant get a new spec for free.

ill keep in mind not to misshift anymore looks like some serious damage, well i cant really go to redline on my 7m anyways it will probably blow its self apart, damn I cant wait to do a 1J swap or a 7m bulid my 7m is toast, i got valve taps and a possible rod knock(s) so i wont have to be worring about any exploding PP soon:icon_bigg

i had a similair problem with spec as well except it didnt crack my bell housing

that was a spec stage 3, only good thing about it was the customer service. spec sent me out a new one right away along with a new flywheel surface too.

I now understand the use of scatter shields.... if SPEC takes care of you(atleast another clutch) that would be extremely nice of them.

Really!?! How old was it at the time? Mine is the Spec stage 3 also with the 6 puck sprung disk. I love this clutch for the price, well I guess I got what I paid for.

That failure looks exactly like the same type as mine, what were you doing at the time and what were the symptoms?

I dont think that just hitting the rev limiter had anything to do with the failure, it was the ~450ft/lbs of torque at 6500 RPM that went through that strap that did it.

hmmm... so the strap itself isn't to blame, the friction surface on the PP failed...

damn, are you in contact with the clutch manufacturer?
