Some battery questions

Ah so they wont hold a charge long? Probably not worth it then. Would be nice if I could just charge it once and throw it in the back for an emergency. I guess the ol jumper cables will have to do! And yes the engine cranks over with ease now that I have a fresh positive terminal/cable and new battery!

You know, I'm not certain how long it was able to hold a charge, I think I only ever needed it once or twice at most. All I know is that now, the "charge level" test lights never seem to go above 'red', which is the lowest setting, once it's taken off the 110v at the wall. The thing is a few years old by now, but I would think that given your weather conditions, it probably wouldn't hold out for longer than a year in a car. Jumper cables and a cell phone are your friends in most cases. :)
