Hey guys in my Targa car I am getting some not so nice noises inside it.

1. When driving on the highway as soon as I hit 100 km/h I can hear air coming inside around where the door/window meets the body of the car. I cannot feel any air entering at all. I may remove the door panels and go for a drive to see if that maybe makes the problem show. At speeds above 160 km/h the sound becomes quite loud. It is on both sides of the car. Door seals??

2. Passenger side (LH side) when driving I swear I can hear the window rattling around in the panel about halfway up when I hit a bump or get going fast on the highway again? Anything common to look for in there?

3. Passenger (LH side) door is also quite difficult to close. Sometimes you have to almost slam it. Pins and bushings are great. It seems like when you try to close the door the window is almost pointing to far towards the inside of the car and making it hard to close. Like it is pressing up too tight against the door seal. Adjustment? Definitely doesn't feel like anything hinge related.

4. To add to the note above when both doors are open I can move the windows a little bit side to side, like there is play. I am not sure if you are supposed to be able to do this.

Thanks a ton guys I appreciate any and all replies.

I hope no one has used the windows to close the doors. Over a long period of time that will cause the side to side play of the window with the doors open. A buddy did it with his mustang over the course of a few years.

For the windows, that'll happen if your window is not fully open or closed. If it's sorta open or halfway or almost closed, the window will rattle because it's shaking from side to side. Try closing your door with the window half-open, it'll rattle like a mofo. Try replacing the foam in your door panel to stop the side-side play.

the window is semi inherent with the design. Open up your door with the windows up. And look straight at them, See how they are curved? Its part of the design of a frame less door. Now roll them down while looking at them. You just gotta find the sweet spot a little lower than half and it will shut up.

for the windows i found mine rattled because theres 3 or 4 little fluffy things that clip into the outer door skin. on mine they had rotted and fell out. also check the bottom nut on the window guide inside the door.

Now then for the wind noise.

this cure works everytime. roll down the window and get a towel and a pair of vice clamps (mole grips or whatever you guys calll them) and gently close up the gap on the rubber seal next to the door mirrors. on the triangular part of the door. dont close it too tight mind so keep trying the window up and down to make sure it isnt binding up on the seal

Holy crap you guys are awesome. Thanks a ton especially for the part number. I will see what I can do about making my own foam like things once I get in there.

Finnon- Are you talking about this part here?

^^^The track in the mirror bracket is rubber over metal. With a fair amount of pressure you can bend the track back together (so it's just a tiny bit wider than the window) and it'll fix about half of the rattling, also helps ensure the window seals well against the forward weather stripping.

that part by the mirrow will open back up over time if the window isn't quite right (like my shitty replacement one...I need to get a real OEM one)

I had tons of wind noise, but I don't notice it as much now with the DDP...

After squishing it in as Finnon suggested it is....AMAZING! No more wind noise up to 110. I will have to test this more thoroughly tommorow!

Thanks a ton!
