Soldering on OEM electric film

Has any one successfully soldered onto the OEM plastic film behind the cluster? I recently swapped on gauges and they interfere with certain functions that I would like to retain. So either I completely rewire it all or I bridge the broken connections. Any input.

Just peel or scrape off the green insulation and you can solder strait to them. I have done it without any issues for the same reason.

As long as you have a good temperature controlled soldering iron, it should be cake.

That's my concern. I don't want to burn.

Lower the heat. Most soldering irons have temp control. Even butane usually do.
