Well, it only took a week for the old supra to sell. Hope they take good care of it. I still love the MK3 but I'm just tired of 'em after about 5 years. Still one of the best looking cars around though.

I've seen a hundred of these threads and never paid much attention to 'em but for some reason I felt like I should crap up the forum with one more thread :nono:

Annyway, I've had quite a lot of fun and help around here with my three cars despite having to start over after from scratch when the board got hacked back in the day.

Definitely met some cool people both online and in person (supra90turbo, IHI-RHC7, onejoezee, shaeff, weezl, grimjack, vansupra just to name a few, sorry to any B.C guys I forgot) and met some real tools. I'd mention names but, well, I guess I don't want to get banned on the way out the door :sarcasm:

I'm moving up (over? down?) to an E36 M3 which has been a dream of mine for a while now.

Here's the last picture I have of the car. It never was ROTM, or even much above average but it was good to me and I hate to see it go.

Take it easy guys.

Perhaps I'm in the tool category :).

I bought my complete 5spd swap from Spipe, and while there, I saw and rode in a 1JZ car for the first time. Thanks again for the great parts deal. My car is waiting for a new clutch.

Yep that's your fully rebuilt R-154 sitting on my garage floor. Good luck to you with the Bimmer....and keep drumming.

^ except when an mkIII wipes its ass with your M badge :D

I like them, almost got 1 before i settled on a supra. the upgrade path on those is costly. As long as you keep those bushings fresh every 40,000 it handles great!

That's why you turbocharge the M. Then you have great handling, AND serious power for the straights. ;)

Damn, so many cars just out of my price range and I don't have shaeff's epic lowballing skills.

I could use some vacation money to supplement, but I NEED some time off - this place is driving me nuts!

Either have to settle for a cheaper car or wait another couple months :/

:( So you didn't get it? That sucks! The pic you showed me was gorgeous! LOL @ the lowballing comment! I won't deny it, I knew what I was going to pay when I walked in there...

Oh I don't know for sure if I haven't got it yet. I emailed the owner for some more pics and got a reply but then haven't heard anything further for about 4 days now so it probably sold. To be honest I'm sort of having second thoughts about the mileage on the car too... I keep reading that it's not really an issue but it's not a $1000 job to rebuild one of these engines from the ground up like a supra...

I'm finding some backup cars just in case but I'm just not as excited about them as I was about the one I linked which I won't link here because I'm afraid it might get snatched up by a local with the cash.

These are my two 'backup cars' some with more lowballing than others implied. The first one is the only car local to me and even then it's 45 miles away and I'm not even that thrilled by it from the pics alone.

These ones are my 'backup backup' cars... It doesn't seem like salvage titles mean a whole lot in the M3 world so I'm halfway considering a few cars with salvages.

PS: did ya spot the MK3 supra in the background of the red car's ad? :)

rebuilds? replace is more like it!

I would look at it like your buying another supra. Would you rather buy a poor condition one that needs work but is cheap or is it worth it to you to spend and extra $XXXX to get one that needs only minor tlc here and there?

And that is the decision I struggle with. I am determined to buy the new car with outright cash without dipping into savings or credit so that pretty much limits me to finding the best car I can for the cash I have available and buying it.

That said, I guess I'd rather have a slightly cheaper car and put the rest of cash into the maintenance that they all need rather than stretch every penny and have nothing left for maintenance or other repairs.

That Hellrot w/ black/tan interior is hot. (And I don't like red!) The interior is sex!

And yeah, I noticed the MKIII immediately!

For what it's worth, there are guys turbocharging their 150k+ mile e36 M3's, pushing 400+rwhp with no issues at all. The motors are stout!

Just take care of any VANOS issues, and check the oil pump nut, which you should do on ANY of these cars.

They also sell LSx swap kits, which are straight up nasty. I, however, love inline 6's. So that's what I'll stick with. I did give thoughts to swapping in a 7M. LOL. There are a few 1jz swapped cars on BF.c.

For moderate power (450rwhp), it's best just to stick w/ the s50/52 and turbocharge it. And it's much less expensive.
