I'm Craig and live in Solana Beach. I bought my '97 TT auto in Monterey this summer. It came with some aftermarket springs I don't care for, Brembo slotted and drilled rotors that I also don't care for, a GReddy Airinx and a complete sound system. I've just put a Tanabe DP and VWR cat-back on it and will soon be getting a GReddy BCC and gixxer_drew (on SF) coilover setup. Other stuff is to follow, of course. By the way, the zip tie on the upper rad hose was put there by the previous owner because the hose sags closer to the belt than he cared for. He gave me a new one, though, so that's nice.
I was dead set on a 6 sp., but after looking at a couple of '94s that I wouldn't have paid $15K for, I decided to get a clean car in a color that I liked regardless of the trans. I'd like to do a 6 sp. swap at some point, but I'm holding off on that for a bit.
The MKIII shown is my dad's, which he bought after he fell in love with my '91. I've bought a handful of parts for it to include Tein Flex coilovers, Gram Lights 57 Optimize wheels, HKS 1.2mm MHG, BIC RDDP, HKS Drager and Powerslot rotors. I figured I'd post his car up on here just in case any of you guys see it. He lives in Oceanside and regularly cruises to San Clemente on the weekends. I'm really happy about how enthusiastic he's become about his car, especially for being just over 50.
