personally i think it should go back to college only. My freshmen year, back in '04 you didn't have all these crazy add-ons and stalker issues. Its headed the same direction as Myspace now....there was a reason facebook got bigger then myspace and they are just undoing it all IMO

As for the new layout, its not terrible but the old one was still way better unless someone had like a million applications to load

OK this makes sense now. I agree that the applications and add-ons make it very cheezy and it is not becoming like myspace. That I think is why I kinda like the new layout, and the only real reason. It kinda hides all that shit.

I wasn't a member when it was ONLY college people but I knew that it was once. I wish it was sometimes.

---edit

OK i just logged on and it's like "HEY TRY THIS CAUSE YOU WILL LIKE IT" and i clicked and the explanation is so long I dont even freaking want to read it. This IS really dumb. you guys made me explore facebook and now I see. It IS counter intuitive and there's even MORE crap. Until today I just accepted that facebook won't give a damn what i think, that my wall moved, and to forget about it....so I guess i had forgotten the old facebook?

ughghhhhhhhh

Ok have fun, I dont think they care if you are not a active member on FB. I have no complaints about facebook, ya it takes longer to load but it also took quite some time to load before the update. I could care less. I normally have a few different windows open (SM) and i just click on them while it dose its thing.
Try reading/posting/searching/viewing any thread at cadillacforums, now they have some issues, way to many adds, and take longer then FB to load.

So with all that said SM is my kind of place. Thank you Mike for keep the adds to a minimum.

What does it cost to use FaceBook?

This the exactly what I tell my friends who complain about the new layout. Facebook is a new service. They could by all rights gave you a steaming donkey turd and you'd have to put up with it or leave, instead you have a slightly different layout and you're calling for a full boycott until they change it back?

Consumers can vote with their feet, free loaders can't ;).

I am an avid myspace user because it allows me to keep in touch with friends and express myself and just be creative and silly.

I have facebook but will probably delete it since I never used it and then they just all of a sudden made it shiiter, facebook doesnt have anything good about it.

except the ability to read previous posts in a conversation so you can avoid forgetting part of a conversation when you click "reply". and there's no stupid authorization code just to post a fucking comment on a FRIEND's page!

i mean....validating i'm human to say "hey" to a friend? bullshit.

I still don't get how Facebook is being slower for everyone. Since they changed it I don't have to wait 40 years for everyones stupid fucking applications to load, I think it's better.

As a child and a young man, I lived and went to school in four different countries. I found out about FB just last month (yeah, i'm behind the times), and connected with a whole lot of friends after I signed up. Even connected with a couple of kindergarden classmates. I hate the new interface. It runs slower, the chat feature bites and makes my work computer crash. FB still runs fine at my home XP computer, but I wonder why they saw fit to change it.

PD: It's cool to see the school stud turned out to be a balding, big bellied turd, and that snotty lil *itch that never looked at you down her nose has enough fatty tissue for 2.5 people. Me? I only got better. LOL

Since we've gotten off-whyleavingfacebookwontmakeadifference-topic....

I moved around a LOT as a kid, and FB is a fantastic way to keep up with all my friends from the various places. Myspace sucks ass because it gives users too much control of their page, which for the vast majority of users, means incredibly obnoxious pages. That being said, it's hard in this day and age to NOT have either one. I have professional contacts on both - and luckily with FB, you can manage exactly what a certain person would see. College friends get the full brunt of my sailor's attitude. Professional contacts and family, well, they don't see shit.

I think there's a thread somewhere on here about posting your FB/Myspace links....

I only stay on FB because thats how I keep in touch w/ college ppl who were fun enough to know on there, but not enough to actually hang out w/ them all the time.

And the magazine revealed Mark Zuckerberg – creator of social networking site Facebook – as the youngest self-made U.S. billionaire to ever appear in the Forbes billionaire rankings. The website, which he set up to keep in touch with friends he made at Harvard, has made the 23-year-old $1.5 billion (£755 million).

I never log into mine im thinking about deleting it to idk tho cuz u can meet some cute girls in college on that

you can also talk to some in real life, they like that. LOL

I met a girl online, as we both entered the same college and wanted to have acquaintances to make things easier.. then I really met her. started hanging out. (mutual attraction) then it abruptly ended.
anyway,
i realized she's a totall creep. modest creep...but she creeps the HELL outta me!

got mad at her last ex and put tampons soaked in red koolaid all over his car.... :aigo: i dont know why I didn't run away when i heard her say that? lessons learned i suppose.

so yeah, as far as online meetings....I dont dig them. plus its akward to talk to a real person after first meeting them online. No "hey what's your name" blah blah blah..since you should already know all that.

heh..another thing; I almost burst out laughing when i heard the voice of the girl described above because it was NOTHING like I had imagined! Her voice wasn't bad but...just that initial "WOAH". things like this are all personal cons to meeting people online and escalating that relationship to face-to-face:biglaugh:
