So i took off my intercooler today because it had some oil build up on the Hotside so i wanted to wash it out before i put my new turbo on.

My question is what's the best way to go about Just take a hose to it ?

My main concern is making sure to get all the water/soap out afterwords..

This. Turn intercooler on it's side with both inlet/ outlet facing up if stock or HKS style cooler. I would say fill it half way up, grab a hose large enough to connect inlet to outlet and spin allowing diesel to run through the whole thing. Should do the job fairly well.

I have heard deisel or even gasoline before. But, how do you get all of the deisel out, without leaving a residue? will deisel fuel have a negative effect on your motor?

It' shouldn't have negative effect on car since it's gonna dry up with air running through it anyway. Suprapowaz idea is also good and probably cheaper than buying a gallon of diesel

I come from a land down under
Gasoline, cap on end half fill it shake around a bit then drain, repeat if needed.

The Gas will flash off in an hour so just refit and go, the engine is designed to injest Gas so there's 0 chance of anything going wrong if there's left over residue.
