So my head is cracked

Well i can see it a bit, but there seems to be a crack on my intake side of my on cyl 5 and 6. it is a think crack, and nothing is missing but its there. It doesnt even get up to the valves, but it is there. which worries me. I have linked pictures to try to get a better feel for what it is. So whats up guys? What does this mean for this head? is it a goner? the head looks fine as a whole. it is flat. it is good but just this crack is scaring me.

take it to your machine shop. he should be able to weld it and get it fixed. thats what my shops doing for me

Thats what I was thinking. Looks like there is a casting line on the right side
of the port in the pic. Clean up that bridge area between the ports you
might be able to see it better--

And i'm not sure what I'm looking at in the 2nd and 3rd pics?

i called my machinist, im dropping it off tomorrow. hopefully it isn't TOO bad.

i'd say so....but like JJ said, use dye penetrant to double check....

I would go with what IJ and DR J said before doing a port and polish. And if it is just a casting mark, go ahead and get it ported and polished.

::w00t:: its just a casting mark! And forget port and polishing, this is my dd motor. Anyway woohoo! This makes the slight speeding ticket i got today seem like less of an issue.

update. it was cracked on cyl number 4 near the coolant passage internally. ghey.

i have no idea. i know that head is a pos though, its been through hell. the cooling system pre me was fucking hacked.

machine shop saw a small what looked to be a crack, and did a test to see if it was cracking internally. and yeah, it was.
anyone know the street price on a na head?
