So me and my best friend went to see an 87 Starion last night

He wants to buy it. Its an 87 Widebody Turbo RWD 5 Speed. The body was in need of work, but the interior was black leather and IMMACULATE. We didnt take any pictures but the car DOES start. It has 2 injectors, unlike most conventional vehicles. What made me kinda laugh, is that the guy was like yeah at 3k rpms the other injector wont kick on to let it boost... I was like Oh really? and we start it, try to hit 3k rpms and around 2800 is when it starts to boost.. so at 2psi or so it hits fuel cut... theres a boost leak. I didnt say it, I said it later to my friend cuz hes never looked into turbos.

Anyways, guy wants $1200 initially but we told him thats high for this car and its condition. He said he knew that and would go down on the price. So my friends gonna offer him $800, hopefully he can get it Id love that project!

Oh and technically its the Chrysler Conquest but the only difference is like 2 badges on the car lol.

Hell yeah, his brother back home has 3 of them. When we went for a run in one I was in the backseat, I Was 16 or so at the time, thing was pushing insane amounts of power, I about died.

I had one and i had the secondary injector go out on me twice. The motors are fairly solid minus the injection system and the jet valves. It was a fun car but i was broke at the time and sold it off for somethign more reliable. Definitley a good project car though and they can be fun.

Swap a 4g63 in there with a chevy auto....Thats what id do if i got another one

So wait, the secondary injector is a common problem? lol dammit, I swear I was convinced it was a boost leak.... ouch.. guess its time to read up on these things. We were told by my friends brother the min we get it hit up with 89 injectors.

haha I noticed the resemblence too, its been over 4 yrs since Ive even seen one so it was a reminder as well. Man I hope he gets it, I wanna drive it
