I like you and I was looking forward to meeting you one day. If you get a bike, I'll have to make an extra effort to meet you before....................I don't want to say it, but I know you've heard that bike riders are also referred to as organ donars by ER employees.

I'd like to own a bike also, but since I have two childredn, I'm not willing to risk my life to the numerous idiots that are on the road. At least I am surrounded by a tank while in the supra. One of my best friends lost his leg two years ago to an idiot woman that pulled out in front of him. She said she never seen him and she pulled out in front of him when he was about thirty to fourty yards away. He layed the bike over and lost his leg at the site. He was in construction like I am and now he has no job and no retirement. I know that's not the bikes fault, but people just tend to look over bikers.

You know I'm not usually into the whole buzz killing thing, but just my two cents worth.

Thanks a lot for your input Jay, it means a lot.
I hate the risk that is involved as well... it does suck majorly. I was thinking of getting a 600 rated bike. No need for me to go faster.
My cousin had 2 accidents with his bike as well, and the great Urbano was also killed in an unfortunate bike accident as well... but something about riding again (i left my 2 bikes back home in poland) feels fresh to me again.
I never thought this idea would cross my mind.

This is your head speaking..............."I'm not falling for this shit, I'm not that stupid". A bike has no roof in the rain, no heater when it's cold, no passenger seat for the lady, and comes with a danger factor that should help you make your mind up on it's own.

I would love to have a bike for Vonda and I to ride on weekends. Well when I say anything, I mean anything except for my life. I have two girls that I want to watch grow up. You could probably get a bike and never have one wreck, but the statistics are stacked against you. If I did have one, it would have those strobe lights on it that you can't help but see coming at you even in the daytime. I'm a gambling man and I don't like the odds

As a bike rider(I have a yamaha R1 as daily driver) there are a few things you should consider: where you are riding(ie how mad the locals are), your apetite for juice(adrenaline) and whether you have a family etc. In my mind I can't do without the bike - its faster thru traffic, you can play around and of course there is risk - I nearly get knocked off the thing about 2-3 times every day... but thats the fun of it. Last week I had the thing completely sideways whilst going 70 kmh in horrendous rain - still don't quite know how I got out of that one, but enjoyed every bit of it.... do what makes you feel alive I say...

Just, whatever you do, don't trade it for a bath tub, or a flight of stairs. People get hurt on them every day.

True, but you rarely have your leg ripped out of socket and lay right beside you while going down the stairs to your bathroom.............:sarcasm:

I know I can die tomorrow while driving the supra to the golfcourse, and I know I could also buy a bike and never get injured. It all depends on the person and what they're willing to do. I choose the supra and four wheels. Once I see my girls grow up, I may get one of those old man Honda Goldwings...........:biglaugh:

I know Jay.;) When you are sitting still on a bike, waiting to make a left, and you hear the tires skidding behind you from the person that didn't actually see you, the danger becomes all to real.
