So I went to H&R Block......

And did my taxes......Now i got a good amount of money to start buying parts to get my girl back on the road. (87t hardtop 5spd)

Anyways I'm searching for a good turbo and IC setup. I am really diggin driftmotion t66 turbo for 800. But i have found something on ebay for the IC and piping. I'm curious if any one has tried this kit before. seems resonable. total is like $257 to the door for the IC, pipes, silicone conectors, and t-bolts

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/31x12x4-INTERCOOLER-DSM-SUPRA-Mustang-3-PIPING-KIT_W0QQitemZ330205392310QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item330205392310

Any input is great. If i get to much bad feedback, i'll hit up drift motion for an IC.

I really don't know how this type of intercooler setup works without having a FFIM. :dunno: I'll just really wait on the more experienced to dime in.

*btw, is H&R Block good, I might have to sneak there...lol*

I think you are about to be $15 dollars richer...lol.

But with a FFIM, I really don't see anything wrong with it but I'll still holler at bigaaron just cause it's Driftmotion yo, plus you can call if you need assistance.

<<on the team because of the struts/springs I just bought.:naughty:

Sorry, I don't do tax advice. It's like cars: to be successful at it requires investment in time and knowledge. I just find it hilarious when someone boasts about how big of a refund they got. Kind of like when I see youngsters pouring thousands of what little disposal income they have into something like a car at a time in their lives when it's the very last thing they should be doing. It's not my money though...

As I said.... Everyone's situation is defferent. The 2300 i got was in a major part to buying $8000 worth of snap on tools. I was able to deduct them as employment expenses and depreciate them. Also I have another situation now that i did not have before, I'm poor( still had that before :biglaugh: )..... I have 3 kids and a wife... so I get Earned Income Credit on top of the $1000 per kid thing. So it just goes to show that everyone does have their own situation. On the subject of letting the "gum'mint" keep my money interest free... I have not done that after my taxes 3 yrs ago. I had done it prior due to my personality. If I were to put my money in a bank, and save it and let it accrue interest, I'de prolly be better off. But I have no will power. I would have jacked the money out of the account the first time some finacial burden came up.... or if I wanted something. So I was able to have a savings account via uncle sam. Bout time that bastard did something good for me. ( please no political or patriotic debates........ please ) Anyways If anyone wants to try that little plan, go to your job, get a new W-4 form and fill it out. say your a single guy no kids no wife. Calim 0 depndants, and in the box that says extra or something like that put in a dollar figure I used to do $10-$25 a week extra to be taken out. So if you do the math that is an extra $250- $1300 you'll get on your income tax check. And yes it gains absolutely no interest at all, But you can not take any money out but once a year. think of it as a christmas club from a bank

Its more a supply of raw materials than a kit. You will need to cut those pipes up to fit, add beads to the pipes, and fab mounts for everything. If that is what your after, then its a reasonable deal.

those intercoolers are kinda hit and miss. the one i have is very well constructed with nice welds.

some of the ones i've seen (one of the kits you posted) wasn't very well made. the tanks didn't line up correctly, the welds weren't very good, the pipes were paper thin and the couplers left a little to be desired.

well it work? probably. but you'll end up with a thousand joints in your ic system, unless you find a very good welder than can weld soda cans together.

just my opinion

I got the Spearco replica IC from Driftmotion, and the IC kit. This kit looks similar to the one on eBay, but at least from Driftmotion, I was reasonably sure that the pipes would be good, and they are. Nice thick material, should be easily weldable (I just gotta learn to do it!)

those ebay intercoolers are a gamble, why not spend your money on something that is known for and a lot more dependable? a lot of vendors over here have really nice products at almost the same price.

This man tells no lies! If you always get a return, change your W-4 at your company and increase your dependents. Wouldn't you rather have more money each week in your check , and be able to pay the bills easier each month? Ya, a big check is nice though. It's your choice.

Back on Topic:

That kit looks very similar to my driftmotion kit. BUT, many ebay sellers of upgrade parts like to make their money on pretty pictures, a "good" description, a cheap price, and the naivity of their customers. It might be a fantastic kit, but it may just not be of the quality that you would expect. I have no experience with that seller so I couldn't tell you. As said before, if you buy the driftmotion kit, Aaron will definitely get on the phone and talk to you. With an ebay seller, you just gotta hope they answer your e-mail. M y driftmotion kit was less than $100 more than the ebay one, but I wouldn't hesitate to do it again. You just don't know if you are getting coke can thin pipes and 1 ply silicone couplers.
