And while you're at it, replace or make a new engine undercover.

I've had a brand new one of these sitting in my garage for a while. Trying to fix my oil leaks before I put it on. Just changed my front main...so it will be going on shortly.

This thread is a perfect example of what is wrong with the car scene in general, people chop and change things without actually understanding the reason for the parts existance or the repercussions if removed, trust me on this if a car maker can get away without putting a part on they will as over the model lifespan if they can save even $10 per car produced it's a huge deal.

Very true. Dollar for dollar, a reduction in cost of goods sold generates significantly more profit than an increase in sales.

which is why I came to you wise gentlemen for advice.
it was also brittle and broken on a few places which was another reason why it stayed off, as gelboy mentioned I didnt want the fan to puree what was left of it.
Imma go check out the local pick-n-pull and see if theres any good ones there.

Unless you can find one that's been replaced recently they're all going to be a bit hard/brittle, I'd grab a new one while they're still available.
(NLA here in Australia and Japan stock was very low last time I checked)

As frugal as I am, I purchased a new one from the dealer. At the same time I purchased a new fan clutch, water pump, rad hoses, Coolant hoses, under cover, and t-stat. Peace of mind is worth its weight in gold.

Post of the month!

When you consider the potential for disaster if the cooling system fails on a 7M it's cheap insurance!

Thats what I thought, new fan shroud, fan, fan clutch. then my fan self destructed, and took out my hood, radiator and fan shroud. Not sure what the exact point of failure was but I suspect a rock from the road, As I did not purchase a undercover with all those other things.

Lol, yeah it was an expensive lesson. I'd ran for years without one. Never bit me. But shortly after I spent some money on those components Murphy decided he was over due for a visit. You live you learn.

Better to pay a few dollars more now then a few paychecks more later. If the supra has taught me anything its that.
