So I finally get banned from SupraForums...

i got banned from SF a couple years ago i dont even remember what i did. i cant remember what i did wrong but i believe it was around the time quite a few of us from SM were getting banned at the same time. so i made a new s/n and only go there when threads are referred there for tech tips from here and have to be a member to view the attatchments

HAHAHA I used to have a membership like in 03 when I first got my mk3, I think nowadays you can be banned just for saying any of the following:
7M, 1JZ, MK3, JZA70, MA70, BHG or any other MK3 related item.

Ive never even had an account at sf . I just heard there kinda dicks over there . So why even bother .

In fact ... I bought My white beauty from a fella here on SM , & have learned so much along the way about GTE engines .

This is exactly why we don't accept money from our vendors. Our vendors here at SM pay by offering products and services our user base wants, and by providing good customer service.
(Providing bad customer service will get a vendor booted off this site, it may take a while, but it happens.)
If we started accepting money from our vendors, they would be (rightfully) in a position to tell us not to allow non-paying vendors to compete with them.
Then things get silly and you start banning links in sigs. Also, since you've now turned your forum into a cash cow (go ask an SF Admin how much advertising costs on SF - you will be shocked at how much those vendors pay...) you now have a monetary reason to not allow links to other sites & forums.
We don't do that here. We like competition, it keeps us honest and it makes both SM and our vendors compete for your time.
I'm sure we could make some money off of our vendors, but we'd also ruin SM in the process. We don't intend to let that happen.
Our contributors and the Google ads help, I pick up the rest of the bill.
We aren't beholden to anyone but you, the users. We've got no 3rd party group who has anything to say about how we run this place. And we like it that way.

You think that's bad? They charge you if you do any kind of group buy, too! They wanted $250 for me to list my BBK group buy over there.
At the time, I had no idea how many kits I would even sell - and I would have had to sell almost 20 to make up that cost!

I think either forums has its advantages.
I like SM for tech knowledge and MKIII stuff, I like SF for MKIV stuff (Since my car is a hybirdish of the 2)

That's the interesting part. Even if NONE of their vendors offer a part or service you have, they will still get on you about it.
