And I am a little pissd to say the least. I dont have the temp gague working and i fear its overheating. I also belive its burning oil from somewhere and the gasket from the turbo to the elbow is pissing smoke. I have a smoke that wont go away, its a light bule tint which makes me think I am burning oil. It is very smooth though. I am missing a knock sensor and a vsv. Any thoughts suggestions acccusations?

smoke on startup? possibly the valve seals. smoke from the exhaust could be turbo seals. get the temp gauge working ASAP. i wouldn't even take my car around the block without it working! if the gasket is leaking between the turbo and elbow, then either tighten it because it's loose, or replace it with a new one.

get the knock sensor and the VSV installed. you're probably running ridiculously rich as well, because you have a code 52 (by running with no KS) which retards the timing and enrichens fuel mixture. get that all fixed, and go from there. narrow it down to only a few possibilities.

I know i am running rich because i can smell it. I was thinking the car would smoke because of a brand new top end. but i didnt expect it to smoke this much. Where are all the connections for the temp gauge?

Thanks a lot shaeff!

Was the system burped properly?
YOu do need a temp gauge before making any assumptions.

I bet if you are still using the old radiator, and while your car was sitting for eight months, that radiator has probably clogged up due to no circulation for so long and causing the overheating.

Clean the radiator - Flushing won't help if its been sitting that long - having it boiled out by a shop may help - but then new stock radiators are cheap ( around $120 )so you might as well just get a new one.

If the radiator was sitting dry, above applies as well.

A blocked or poorly circulating radiator will cause that kind of boil over you are describing.

Sometimes those metal coolant pipes will corrode inside and cause blockage ( pipes running on the engine's sides)

topher e, the temp gauge connector is kindof tough to reach, as it's behind the bracketry for the powersteering resivour. here's an ok picture of it:

Get that temp gauge working. No way would I in a million years drive a car without a temp gauge and especially in a Supra.

Shaeff got your back so your in good hands.

That may be it, the problem is, I dont know where it plugs into. The coldstart injector itself is plugged. ( Under the intake mani) I keep thinking that plug goes under the T-stat housing but I cant find a port for where it goes. :dunno: :1zhelp:
