sup guys my names david and i USE to own an mkIII till it spun a bearing from what i hear BIG SURPRISE! lol but in all seriousness i now own a 95 mitsubishi eclipse gst and i am thinking of getting rid of it or just buying another mkIII BUT, i dont know what set up i would go with if i did get another supra so i am asking this........

1.0 what year supra should i get?
1.1 i like the targa top and mine was a '88 and i loved it but im looking for the best for my money but would prefer the models above the 86.5 just didnt like the body stylings.

2.0 what is the consensus about engine swaps... meaning which is better a boosted 7m-gte OR a 1jz-gte.
2.1 what are the pros and cons
2.2 where is the cheapest place to get ahold of a good 1jz if it is the better deal.

3.0 which is easier to build as far as difficulty of reaching parts as well as cost effectiveness.

so yea the more you can input the easier my decision will be and thank you!

good to hear was not sure if there was a motor mounting difference between the years for the 1jz swap or if one year has more of an engine bay than another or what. so dontsuppose anyone knows of any links that directly compare the pros and cons of the 7m and 1jz do they? as well as a place to get ahold of parts for a 1jz cause finding forged interals for a 1jz seems to be a (female dog).

The crossmember from 1989-92 will let you drop a 1jz with nothing having to modded. You can buy different motor mounts that will let you put 1j in a 1986.5-88 with out changing the crossmember.
