So I blew my rebuilt 7mgte cause a oil came off and ran it out of oil but anyways. I bought a 7m block that had a 5m head and he sad it was a rebuilt 7m but he didn't tell me it had a 5m crank as we'll. I look up a little about it and I gotta get custom stuff. The main question am trying to get at is it worth it getting all the items to make it a 2.8 7mgte or try and see if I can resurface my crank the one in the blown motor ?

Its not possible to use a 5m crank in a 7m block. the crank snoutsa are too different.

And never heard of anyone using a 5m head on a 7m and dont see why you would.

Also you sure its not a 6m crank? 6m crank came in the early 7m's and besides the lighter weight and less counter balanceing they are pnp with 7m cranks.

I just bought a 7m with a 5m head and crank but I have a 7m head with port work and angel job done on them but has a hole in the block. I mean I wanna put a jz in but would rather build one on a stand and build it up. I guess am gonna buy a crank or another block

Sorry for the long reply but I bought everything together still connected. At first I was looking at the motor all crazy like did this thing run but he told me the guy ran low 12s spraying. So I thought he just put a 5m head on a 7m. When I took the head off, it definitely ran but not long had .20 over ge pistons don't know if it's for 5mge or 7mge, not using them anyways and had the 5mge with 2m stamp on it. He told me everything was balance. Their were a little scrape marks on the crank bearings but nothing major
