Snapon Ratchet broken, just wondering what to expect with warranty coverage

I was undoing a bolt and as the bolt backed out it moved the ratchet back and the selector lever caught onto a support bar (I hate FWD ford windstars).

Here is what happened:

I showed an older snapon ratchet to show what I wish the lever looked like, but the new one is the best as the 80tooth technology is impossible to not use after using it once.

Just wondering what I might expect when I eventually catch a snapon truck, I've read of problems with people attempting replacement of things like this and am wondering if anyone else has broken the same thing as it is pretty fragile. Mostly i've heard of Snapon reps saying it was because of misuse and such.

I'll know eventually, as soon as I find a snapon truck, just wondering if anyone has had problems with this little lever before, and how replacement/repair went.

It will be a no questions asked exchange! Find the local snap on truck and give him your broken wrench and he will hand you a new one without question.

Friend of mine used to work for a ducati place....sometimes he would need a very short open end wrench so he put a Snapon on a vise and break it so it was short then when the truck would come around he'd exchange it! Shady but he did it several times.

Cool... I'm hoping it is that easy.

I've had so many issues with craftsman, that I'm not used to that. I've also heard issues with people who don't have 20k worth of tools trying to get any service from trucks. We'll see when I finnally catch a truck.

I broke a ratchet and sears said that it I needed a reciept (went to another sears that exchanged it)
-This ratchet is the reason I am now buying snapon, when it broke my hands went right into a block and I now have scars all over my knuckles, I will never trust craftsman again.

Twisted two extensions and they said I did it on purpose.

Ironically, broke a socket through misuse (impact gun) and they gave me a new one.

Most likely, they will repair it on the truck right there in front of you, but I highly doubt they would have the part due to the ratchet being so old. I've had my ratchet repaired on the truck once.

he will either replace it or rebuild it right there on the spot. it depends on if he has a kit on his truck. i have done this exact thing to mine at least twice.. both times it was rebuilt within 10 min with no questions asked.

Figured I'd post an update, got it fixed, guy was happy to do it.

Never had a better experience, took 2 minutes, and while he was at it he repalced all the internals of the ratchet.

The Dual 80 ratchets are in my opinion the best available, so I bought a 3/8ths from him to add to my collection.

Snap on ftw. Life time warranty.

I dont have a 80 tooth but i have my 13in flex head soft grip ratchet that i have not seen another ratchet that compares other than the same in 80 tooth.
