89 Turbo is smoking like hell. When the engine heats up, it blows greyish white smoke from the exaust. I have been told that it is bad turbo seals...but I have my doubts. Thought I would get opinions from the experts. Any thoughts? Itried to upload a video of it, but it is an "invalid file" for some reason.

Maybe it is the turbo seals, but I though oil smoke was blue or black and not white. It does seem that I remember reading about some people having white smoke with blown seal or valve guides though. Hopefully it's not the head gasket since you just replaced it. What did you torque your head gasket too?

It was replaced by Batlground Engineering in Atlanta. I assume they torqued it right. They did an engine swap for me. JDM 7MGTE with the head gasket, new water pump, timing belt, stage 4 clutch and swapped my 550's and turbo kit and hard pipes to the new motor. Granted, it runs like shit now...but they tell me if I get a new turbo or get that one rebuilt, it will be fine. I would seriously like to find someone in the Atlanta are that knows their shit about Supras and can help me with mine. I am rapidly losing the love...

Try the south east forum and see if you can locate someone. I know their has got to be some Atlanta brothers over there that can help you. Good luck.

Then get another car. Obviously you haven't read some of the build threads here to know what some people have gone through and are still going through to get their cars running. If you're "losing the love" that easy then this isn't the right car for you.

I am in no way losing love for the Supra...just the 7M. Thinking that last engine swap should have been a 2J. When my Supra is running, it is my favorite car I have ever driven...and I have driven many...much more expensive cars...but nothing brings out my inner demons the way my Supra does.

I recall seeing a post not long ago where someone did have a turbo issue causing white smoke. Iirc, the ct-26 is both water and oil cooled. Somehow(I don't recall the actual problem), the turbo was leaking coolant into the exhaust, which was causing the white smoke.

You can do a block leak test to see if you're getting exhaust gases into the coolant(bhg). You can also check the plugs for water/coolant, and a compression test.

***UPDATE***

It was the turbo. Put a nicely maintained 60-1 on and the smoke completely stopped. Now, my trouble is at 15lbs the turbo loses pressure, drops back to 10lbs and goes back to 15. Its a steady, consistent up and down. I am running SAFCII, HKS vpc, Greddy Boost controller, 550's, HKS intercooler and hard piping. Is this probably a boost leak somewhere?
