Ok, I have this problem again  -

I recently swapped my old turbo for a used CT26 i bought from someone here one the forums.

Yesterday I drove my car to get it smogged and it ran perfectly. The car is bone-stock except for the exhaust which came with the car.

Didnt end up getting the car smogged, so i drove home. On the way back, I had an Integra pull up next to me and rev it :3d_frown:

I didnt gun it or anything, just drove normally, shifting @ 2 to 3000 rpms. Once i got to third gear, I hit the gas a bit more getting up to 4000rpms, when the car looses almost all power. I hit a red light and my idle just kept dipping from about 800 to 500 rpms.

When the light went green, the car barely even moved :aigo: It would sputter a lot but would barely even move, smoking quite a bit while gasing it.

It did this all the way home. Once I pulled the car into my backyard and lifted the hood, I had a bit of smoke coming from the turbo side of my motor. I then grabbed a flash light and looked at the air filter and saw this:

Oil in turbo:

I was searching the forums and read about smoke being caused by the oil feed/return line being clogged up. Could this possibly cause the oil in filter issue?

I need this car running asap. Kinda hard to find a job with no transportation :3d_frown:

Help me, people - Im dying over here......

Well... Yeah, I was hoping not to say this but...

You're Boned :kaboom:

Usually a little bit of oil in the air filter is a result of oil just getting up into the PVC system and going into the Throttle Body or in the Air tube between the airfilter and the turbo.

Oh yeah, How much oil you got in the motor after this happened??

If it's not much, then yeah sounds like the seal in the turbo side finally gave out and pumped oil into your intake and IC.

Oh yeah, after all is said and done, dont forget to clean your InterCooler!

I've heard of capping one end, pour abour 1/2gal of Gas into the other then cap the other end so the IC is sealed with the gas. Then put on a little bit of music and shake the hell out of it, then pour the gas out and dispose of it properly. Ah, clean InterCooler!

.....

One test you could do, take off the rubber tubing to the 3000 pipe and crank her up AFTER YOU CHECKED THE OIL, and see if she's cleared up. But looks like you'll be sending it off to be rebuilt.

BigAaron does turbo rebuilds for about ~$500 and takes 2 weeks I think.

I hoped at least some of this info helps you out.

Later.

my guess is turbo seals are bad for oil to be in your intake. but that wouldnt cause it to have no power.

What if it dumped so much oil that it clogged up the passages in the stock Intercooler? :biglaugh:

yeah i guess if it was that bad it would. i drove my car for about 2 weeks with blown seals oil in intake and coming out the exhaust, it was running 4psi instead of 7psi.

that turbo looks like its got a pretty bad chipped fin there...could be the picture...but something that big would destroy the turbo.
