But wouldnt it still pull fairly "hard" until redline?

Yeah naturally, it should pull from 5300 to 6500 the way it pulls from 4500-5300 in reverse.. so it should still be a decent pull forward and shouldn't take more than a split second in 1st gear.

i wouldn't count on the valves bein the issue. start with a compression test and take it from there- and boost leak test just for shits

This morning on my way to work I revved my engine til redline (while in neutral), I wanted to see if it was sluggish without a load on it. Well...it pulled fine and the way it ought to IMO. And newbsupra's post made me remember, that the rebuilt turbo that is on my 7M has a crack in the turbine housing.....is this also a suspect for my problem?

Here is a pic of the crack prior to me installing it.

Balanced and Blueprinted
Block Honed (didnt need to bore)
Rebuilt Head
Wiseco pistons
Eagle rods
ARP rod bolts, head and main studs
Rebuilt ct
New timing belt
All the hoses were replaced

This is a list of what was done.....

btw...my motor will pull to 6500 it just takes forever and a day to get there beyond 5500.

There you have it. Stock ct26. Any thing over 5500rpms will feel "sluggish."

Im glad you chimed in.....I was just about to start checking your website. How much to upgrade this rebuilt turbo to a 57 trim? Will it be cheaper to rebuild since it was just rebuilt(like 2k miles ago)?

edit: Even with the crack pictured on the turbine housing is it still rebuildable?
