slimmest deep socket

Hi guys, I'm torquing down my head and my deep sockets (12pt. 14mm 1/2in dr.) are too fat to fit between the falve spring things and onto the arp's. I'm using cheap conpanion's right now. I'd like to know which deep sockets of the same specs as stated above are the slimmest out there. I think snap-on should work because they are reputable but there isnt a dealer near me. help me out guys I hate when some bs like a socket is holding me back from completing my project. Thanks in advance!

Don't know if this will help, but When I just torqued down my head I had a problem with a less than precise casting, so I used a dremel and took a little material out of the area. OR take some surface off the socket. Buying one is a lil expensive and rarely needed. Just my $2

You should be able to pick up an impact socket and have it turned down a little on a lathe at any machine shop.

I used a Craftsman...3/8" drive w/ a 1/2" drive adapter for my torque wrench.

I thought about that too. I thought it might affect the reliability/strength of the head. If I do that, I would have to remove the head and clean the head... again. Thanks for the advice tho!

I used 3/8's drive for head bolts, never had any problems even with cheap sockets fitting. 3/8's will hold head bolt/nut torque no problem.

Oh yea i meant 3/8ths. Yes i was jsut kidding. It's way too risky and hard to steal stuff like that. Thanks for all your imput!

Well there's two solutions to this:

1.) Get an impact socket. They aren't chrome dipped, and they aren't hardened. Take it to a machine shop and have them turn it down.

2.) Take the cams out. Its not that hard to do.
