Hey guys i was just thinkin one day how bad ass would it be to have an all wheel drive supra. stared thinkin what all wheel drive that would work. Anyone ever thought of putting a RB26 in a supra with skyline front end? Im sure there would have to be a shit tone of mods to do it but how cool would that be? Someone needs to try it and have the first awd MKIII :D

At that point, why not just buy a Skyline? Given the amount of time and effort this would take, regardless of the cost, one could probably just buy an R34 outright.

Not to step on a dream or anything, but... you've got your work cut out for you, to say the very least. ;)

That would make the mk3 a even heavier car and make it even more so nose heavier. Not at all worth the money time or weight considering its not really an improvement. More so a because I wanted to. F1 cars are rwd for a reason ;).

Actually there was talk of a MkIII with a 4.0 4WD Jeep drivetrain a while back, and some blurry pictures. Interesting stuff, as the R154 is supposedly fairly similar to the Aisin transmission some of them have.

Anyways, it would likely take much more work and money than you expect. With a 'normal' build, you need to add at least 10% to your budget as cushion, since you will end up having to replace some other parts like it or not. With what you're looking for, wait for R32 GTRs to hit 25 years old and just import one legally. I know all sorts of people with an R33 GTRs, R32 GTRs, and one that had an R35. As much as I respect and quite like Skylines, I have always preferred the Supra myself, despite how awesome ATTESSA is

I see cocaine sales have gone through the roof in Idaho... :p

Where is said R33 though?

Had a complete r33 driveline at one point and almost put it in a 98 T/A. I figured it would the domestics and imports to agree on something.
Not going to lie, as cool as that would be, I'm not really sure that is as much an upgrade as it sounds like. The LS1 is put in everything for a pretty good reason, and you're not avoiding the underlying problem of the TA being a pretty crap car to start with.

Coming from a guy who owned and used as a DD, a 2001 SS for a while... Although, I'm sure you could make it a nice car, just have to gut it and start over with seats and interior that isn't from a Grand Am. :)

The only problem I see with this is that in 2014, you will see the price of R32's skyrocket (simple rule of supply and demand) unfortunately.

I would love to have one myself. Got to sit in one back in 2006 at SILV. Cool cars for sure.

Te72.. the R33 wide body is in the back. torn apart behind me. ;)

I have a spare OS giken triple disk, hks twins, 6spd and rear end.. If the Rb26 wasn't such a pain in the ass I would do it. In all reality it would not be a hard swap.. since v160's already fit in the tunnel. (6spd from a r34 is a v160 with a transfer case and different bell housing..)

my knowledge of MK3's Mkiv's and r33,r34,35.. could lead to a very nutty swap. ;)
