Real cadmium-plated bolts are getting hard to find since cadmium is toxic, so it's being phased out.

For improved oiling and cooling recommend ditching the OEM cooling & bleeding off concept. Instead, go with a remote filter / cooler and oil thermostat setup.

Just curious Adam, why is cad plating so important, and why would it be better than a black oxide badass dark bolt?
adampecush;970935 said:Because that is what Toyota put there, and in my experience, I've found the black oxide bolts to rust relatively quickly.
Also, most don't know this, but on nearly all new bolts from Toyota, one of the captive washers has a wave in it, which provides some additional preload on the bolt (more resistance to backing out without more strain on the threads)
