What is the size of the banjo bolt going into the oil pan for the oil cooler line? Looking to upgrade my oil cooler and will be using AN fittings.
Also wat is the size of the CSI banjo bolt going into the Fuel Rail?

thanks.

This thread reminded me to start looking again...I really need to find a big ol bolt set as backup for when I need a bolt or something.
Something like this:

You would not believe how hard it is to find bolts for these cars (cad plated, with captive washers). My best advice is to hunt through the EPC and find the part number of a bolt and order a bunch from Champion Toyota. I've done this with the M6X1 bolts (which is by far the most common bolt on the car) and have stockpiled around 50 brand new bolts. Makes re-assembling the car a whole lot more fun.

Both are M12X1.25.

For improved oiling and cooling recommend ditching the OEM cooling & bleeding off concept. Instead, go with a remote filter / cooler and oil thermostat setup.

www.McMaster.com for all your fastener needs. They have every assortment you could possibly think of, and more...

Real cadmium-plated bolts are getting hard to find since cadmium is toxic, so it's being phased out.

Oh wow, a friend just showed me that yesterday and I didnt even think to look there...their prices are better for stuff.

Just curious Adam, why is cad plating so important, and why would it be better than a black oxide badass dark bolt?

This is true, "cad" is a bit of a misnomer - the bolts are actually zinc dichromate plated...most still refer to them as cad though.

Because that is what Toyota put there, and in my experience, I've found the black oxide bolts to rust relatively quickly.

Also, most don't know this, but on nearly all new bolts from Toyota, one of the captive washers has a wave in it, which provides some additional preload on the bolt (more resistance to backing out without more strain on the threads)

I'm glad you mentioned that. I saw an option for zinc coated bolts on mcmaster and wasnt sure which was preferable.

I understand the wave, giving the bolt a bit of "preload" of sorts as a lock washer. There are different methods of accomplishing this, but the kit I was refering to includes all sorts of extras
