sitting afpr?

so i bought a used afpr with gauge, lines, and dampener bypass around august of last year. i'm finally ready to used it. what i'm wondering is will be ok to just put it on? or should i take it appart and maybe reseal it if they sell new gaskets? i know plenty of people have bought them used. i just want to know what everyone does.

You should be fine just throwing it on.

But AeroMotive to my knowledge doesn't sell a "rebuild" kit.

install it all. then jumper +B and Fp in the diag box. turn key to on, do not start.

check for any leaks and make sure fuel pressure holds solid.

i have always been a supporter of having a fuel pressure gauge inside the car. you can make sure that fuel pressure rises with boost pressure and that fuel pressure does not fall off.

also, do NOT use teflon tape on the fittings.

i posted the same question on sf and no helpful info. its a shame sf has become what it is. now the only thing its useful for is a good laugh. lol.

Just make sure if you clean it to use brake parts cleaner.

Carb Choke cleaner isn't plastic safe.

i think i'm going to go with what db said. then if it leaks i'll go from there.

aeromotive does sell a rebuild kit if you call it that. The diaphragm in the regulator can be replaced. Other then that you'd have to physically damage the housing or fittings to trash it...

I suggest some teflon tape on the threads of the adjustment screw, it dosnt seal air tight and with vac hooked up will leak a small amount.

^grim your talking about the screw with the allen head that goes into the body. right? i was thinking when adjusting it back and forth wouldn't that shred the teflon? i'm not sure if i should bother with it. it seems to be working fine. but i don't have a gauge in the car so i can't see for sure its raising 1:1. does anybody else do that?
