We have estimated rates for the Luxor. Our weekday rates look about the same as last year but some holiday has our weekend rates nearly $100 more than last year. Our "special" rates for Fri/Sat would be $225.

Please complete this poll to let us know what you would like us to do.

Stay at the Luxor with the higher rates?
Find another hotel with lower rates knowing that we'll end up off the strip somewhere?

Further Clarification
Sorry. I may have not made that clear enough.

There is a very serious chance that even if we stay at the Luxor we may not get our usual lot this year. That chance goes to absolute 0 if we don't stay at the Luxor.

Also, if we stay somewhere else there is very little chance they will even give a rats @$$ about our group. I doubt that security would be stepped up for our parking area - IF we are even able to park together.

Finally, we have an understanding with the Poker Room staff now. They loved how we ran the payouts last year. Moving to a new hotel would mean we would have to break in a whole new bunch of people and prove to them how simple our system is - if they are even interested in hosting our tournament.

There are MANY very good reasons for staying at the Luxor again this year. The only reason for moving is $$.

Youre better off the strip anyways.
If ther are people that really are on a budget, The Wild Wild West on Tropicana just acros the freeway from the strip is $35 a night and isnt as bad as some people might think. I stay there when traveling alone for business to vegas.

That's awfully high, especially for some of younger guys on lower budgets, or just other people on low budgets...

It's like 3-4 months away. Budget ahead. Split the room price with someone

This should be my first SILV. Stay at the Luxor is my vote.

Any update here? I wanted to book a room in the coming week(s) and wanted to make sure there wasn't a change in the rate.

I am very excited to announce that the new MGM management has finally figured out what we want to do. I had to take one of the satellite images of the parking garage, draw nice red square on it, and send it to them to help illustrate what area we were talking about. We now have their permission to use the upper lot in the parking garage for our Show-and-Shine.

We realize that some of you may be a little freaked out by taking this ramp with those SWEET lowered Supras with beautiful lips. Please note that you can make it safely up this ramp if you take your time and hit the ramp at the right angle.

Information will be updated on the official website soon. We are under a printing deadline on the official information packet and all of our time and energy is going into making that as perfect as possible.

So all those of you that are staying at the Luxor - your commute to the Show-and-Shine will be very short.

I have also begun talks with the Tropicana to hold our Awards Presentation again. This year it will be on Friday night.

Remember to get your room reservations soon. Our group rates expire on September 7.

Not multiple hotels. The Conf Room for the awards presentation is at the Tropicana - across the street. We had to do this because there wasn't room at the Luxor. This is the same thing we did last year.
