yah, theres probably a huge decrease in power and spool responce when installing the silencer. i guess the only benefit is a lower chance of getting a fix it ticket for having a "loud" exhaust...

yeah, but it's still smaller than the real opening...

get a good resonator installed (or get a catback with it), and if needed get the butterfly valve that installs in the exhaust system that allows you to close it to nearly shut the car up...

you can also get to the nice spot in the throttle where there isn't any load and it's dead quiet (good for flying past the cop sitting on the side of the road)

I've got mine in right now, it makes a big difference in the droning sound of the exhaust, but haven't really noticed a major drop in power.
I'm a pretty light throttle driver these days, though. Trying to baby this engine to make it till my project motor is ready.

^^I'm a sucker for LOUD, deep 4" exhausts coming off an inline six...

But 4" exhaust with no muffler crosses the line. I think it sounds horrible...

i thought i read somewhere that the silencer for the Blitz Nur Spec doesnt realy harm performance. cus, thats what i have, the Blitz Nur Spec R with a BIC test Pipe and Cooleze Mega Mouth DP. so, with all that, would the silencer realy do that much harm to its performance?

Silencer just restrict power. Look at the hole on that silencer and compare it to your stock outlet. Doesnt matter how big your piping is, if your end is still small then your no better stock IMO.
