Nice guys!

I'd LOVE to have my gages in the stock dashpod, but I can't bring myself to tear out the stock cluster... it's in such good shape!

I'll keep "adding" and have to come up with places that fit, I suppose...

Thanks for the PICS on your work! Those shots are both inspiring AND intimidating at times!

Yeah I had already cut the back of the cluster when it came time to refit it into the dash, so at that point I had no real option but to go ahead and finish the job or find another gauge cluster. There was definitely a couple of "oh shit moments" where I realized Id just cut something and wasnt sure if I was going to get it to work.
I think the final plan will be a "Robb pod" for the AEM truboost, autometer wideband, temp and oil pressure on the dash locations and call it a day.

I may change it around later on and play with gauge positioning, then put an AEM truboost in one of these....
custom pod that Robb in Iowa makes...

Wow, depending on price I could be really interested in one of these. Has he made them with a dual pod? I've got a feeling I might be adding one more gauge.

He makes them as doubles too and I think even triples but they look really busy with 3 gauges, his doubles are nice and he paints them to match the color and texture of the original which is a real plus.

Here is a little more of this work that he did for two of my Celicas, this shows the 5th gen Celica RC bumper cover. The red one has the molded lincense plate frame and the black one Robb cut it out and using sheet metal and some kind of expoxy was filled back in to make the look like he never took a sawzall to it. Both bumper were painted by Robb and neither has been buffed.

Sorry for all the pictures but everyone likes pictures right?! :biglaugh:

I wonder what an MA70 bumper cover would look like without the front license plate thing in it? Anyone have a picture of that?

the problem with pods on the steering wheel is SPACE..IMO the way the one in the pic is is tacky with the back straight down and the wire loom coming out and going back in. one GOOD pod on the steering column and you are pretty much out of space without it looking weird. you have to take into account you have the combination switch stalks that go through the sides of it so running duals is pretty diffcult. the airbag column pieces have a LITTLE more room but not that much to speak of.

ask me how i know all this ;)
