from what i hear, that OEM HG isn't going to last long under that kinda boost

The OEM headgasket wasn't the big issue to begin with.
no no, because of the higher compression, on top of almost doubling the stock boost level; even with ARP's and proper torquing, i don't think it's gonna last.

wouldn't you agree?

When it comes to boosting a GE everything depends on the shape of the engine. If you're planning on just bolting on a turbo and electronics and then throwing 15lbs of boost at an already tired 20yo engine you bet something's going to break.

You have just as much chance of something breaking with a swapped in GTE engine the minute you start modifying it... possibly a greater chance.

Personally, I'll keep my block, at least I know what it's been put through for the last year and what does and doesn't need attention... and I won't be bolting on a turbo until the engine's completely sound.

It kills me how everyone wants a turbo. Why didn't all of you purchase the auto you wanted instead of settling out for what you now have.

Take your na and rebuild it and do all of the tiny insignificant mods and be happy with an over 200hp ride that'll still smoke anything else na.

Or atleast give it a run for it's money.

On a well built n/a motor, adding a turbo and a few other well planned bolt-ons makes an excellent sleeper(no turbo badges). I could spend the day picking on Vette's and Porches. It'd be a lotta fun ;)

i bought mine because i wanted a supra, but couldn't afford a turbo at the time. thought that i'd be able to convert it down the line, and i will; i just haven't figured out which way to pursue yet.. i've also gotta save ALOT more money booooooooooo, :[
