Should I reinstall the EGR?

After doing some research, it seems there's almost no advantage that I can see to removing the EGR system. I did a JDM swap...which, as everyone knows, has no EGR. I've ran my setup for over a year without it and now I feel that EGR is a must. Would it be better to get a JDM ECU or reinstall the EGR?

I'm trying to get my ECU as in tune as possible and it seems crazy to run without it if the ECU expects it to be there. It seems that the improved gas mileage and the prevention of detonation would make this an obvious decision but I thought I'd consult the experts.

I vote to lock this thread since there has been several threads started about this in just the past week. It is obvious that the rookie dose not know how to use the search, or how to open a thread.
