Should I hear air pressure when I open the Gas lid?

When you open your gas cap, are you suppose a rush of air as its releasing the pressure?

I don't hear this, should I replace the gas cap?

At least the gasket, if you can buy it seperately.

Of course if you have tampered with the charcoal canister, all bets off.

Mine does it alot when its really hot outside. I'm not sure if its sucking in air or if its pushing air out, i've never really tried to diagnose it.

uhhhh... it doesnt mean anything.. pressure builds up when the temperatures and humidities change in the air, while the empty space in the gas tank will be a certain temperature.. puts pressure on or out of the gas tank..

like pumping up a basketball in 110 degree weather and when it gets cold.. well.. yeah.. you get the point

When your low on gas it should be the loudest becuase it is at that point that the vaccum in the tank is the greatest, so letting the cap off would allow air to rush in to equalize the pressure in the tank.
