Depends if its been molested before. 3 hours away I would pick it up if you can. What year block and what does it come with. I payed 500 for my 92 block.

hasn't been before i dont think. i'll ask though
and 3 hours away i have nothing to transport it in though.. no truck
and what year block? i am not sure.. again i'll ask.

come with complete motor with intake and turbo
doesnt have the coilpack cover though

he says he bought the car with the motor out because the po suspected a bhg

quote "Kevin - I can't guarantee the condition but the motor is pretty clean - and I've seen plenty of these - so I think you may not need to do as much work as you're planning. However, I would def do the bearings anyway. The crank is likely OK. I haven't seen one pitted or rusted from a BHG.
Anything is possible though."

Quote "It has 275K on it, but suspected head gasket issue as usual. It's in clean shape and a good rebuild candidate. I think there are some parts missing that went onto the motor that replaced it though. I'm sure I have most of it or can find the rest here."

just things i pulled out of back and forth emails.

this is his website www.adrenalinemotorsports.ca

your opinions are greatly apreciated

Yah thats a crapshoot, who knows.

I bought my motor off of someone here so I took his word. Good luck it took me a while to find a engine that I wanted that was also close to me too. Good luck man.

Edit: Cool site, thanks.

if its had a bhg i wouldnt go more than like 230$. which is price you could get the same unknown condition complete out of a junkyard.

being that its bhg how do you kno that the head is even still usable? how do you know that it didnt get rodknock from it and the rods and cranks are so messed up that there not usable, that the block has too much pitting on it?

I personally wouldnt not pay more than $300

i got mines, bhg and slight knock for $150 but it came with arp studs, new waterpump, timing belt etc etc.

Personally if you have time to wait it out, do it. Try and find somone to go pickup or lend you a pickup to get your engine. It'll save you a few bucks. Seven hundy is a bit pricey.

junkyards here have squat. especially since im in a small city and the closest large city is detroit but i do not wanna deal with bringing it across the border

yes it does come with everything. except the coilpack cover
a plus is that its a 92 so its probably the newest 7mgte i can get my hands on.

as for the bhg, rod bearings.. i was planning on building this motor anyway.
whether the head is still usable or not its a gamble im willing to take.

as for saving money and finding someone with a truck. i dont know anyone that would and even then i would have to pay them for gas up there and back here. 7 hours of driving. and 7 hours wasted i could be making money.. i think that $200 for the guy to deliver for me isnt really a bad deal.

i am not sure about how much it would cost to ups, fedex etc it to me but im sure it must be a lot.

700 sure beats getting a 1500+ "jdm low mileage" motor that probably needs a rebuild anyway

im gonna try to offer $650 but if not im fine with pay 700. to me it's worth it.. or else who know how long it would be till i find one

thanks for the advice guys

you could just use a n/a block if your really in need as the early gte blocks & turbo a cars didnt have squirters and thats really the only major difference.
