I search but had no hope and I got under the car in texas heat and gave up. Where in the world is the manual transmission code at? I need to know what tranny I have but have no luck.

Reason I ask is because my speedometer cable melted onto my exhaust and seized and I need to know to replace it with the right one. In fact I do not even think my speedometer cable is the right one for the car. Did you know auto zone stop selling speedometer cable for the supra? :(
Anyone know where I can get it? I search was found "auto zone"

Well both of the short piece (the one on the tranny and the one right after it that goes to the long one) are both melted and the end on the tranny wobbles loose.

My question is where does the W58 or R154 is engraved on the tranny at so that I can try to find where ever it sells it other then the stealership?

You need to learn to read.

If your car is a turbo car, its an R154. If it is NA, its a W58.

Go to the dealership, stop being cheap, it isn't expensive.

uhh well dude my car used to be NA remember? So they could of used the same tranny on the turbo (i searched and read how some turbo supra were using the W58s?)... Yeah.

Also my dealership has been known to fuck up my own cars and few other people with labor and parts (parts!! how the fuck do you give customer wrong parts!!) .... I deal with them last.

Not sure on how to tell the diff on manual trannies. If you find out exactly what part you need I will be more than happy to use my discount at the dealership for you. Let me know I can find out the price and shipping. Maybe save you a few bucks.
