I got my hands on a incomplete C's short throw shifter kit with a front clip. I haven't been able to find parts to complete it.

I decided to take madders in to my own hand by fabricating my own parts. I started off buying a w58 shifting retainer for 15 bucks shipped to my door. I then started cutting and grinding.

The top half of the shifter is missing so it was too short to test out. So.... I made one out of some fire wood. :naughty:

sooo, theoretically, you could do this with a stock shifter if you just cut/weld to extend the bottom part?

and i just gave away my extra shifter too... :(

Ya i guess you could do that. I did it this way because it was cheap and I don't have a welder for aluminum. So I stacked the retainers. I think im going to call it the short throw stacker.

the only down fall is if it does not sink in well you can mess stuff up over time and were stuff out aka extetin the shift rod and cheax stuff apart

i took apart 2 trannies maken mine to get the right setup

Im pretty sure that it will be ok, everything lined up and the length is good. Im going to take everything back apart and double check everything. Thanks for the concerns. Hopefully i won't have any problems.
