Beech Performance Motorsport quick shifter: I'm better shifting with it now (much quicker). Dispite my attempts to quiet the shifter, it still has a rattle in second gear... I haven't been able to isolate the cause of the vibrations. More effort is needed to shift from one gear to the next on the R154 transmission vs the stock shifter. I'll keep it though. HTH, Van

Thanks for the input men, anyone else care to chime in also ?

Adam, so you got rid of your C's. From what I have been able to gather it is one of the best out there.

Since the height is really my only complaint with stock, perhaps I should just do the SOGI mod ?
With the SOGI mod your going to get opinions from one extreme to the other, I currently am using the sogi mod but I welded the stock threads ontop so I can still use my TRD knob, the shift knobs with the set screws suck. I am also using the green truck bushing too.

The best thing you could prob do is pick up a second stock shifter then you can try the Sogi mod and always swich back if you dont like it.

I love my oldschool JDM C's shifter, but if I didn't have it I would deffinately go with the SupraSport shifter, it's the best design of any I have seen. I installed one for a customer a while back and I was really impressed with the SupraSport shifter.

it has threads on it, but it only adjust maybe a inch. i think its perfect the way it came. way better than stock. 1st-2nd and 3rd-4th are quick status. here is a pic before i put my motor in.

Does the SS V3 you described need modified to lower the height of the stick ?

You do not want to modify the height of the stick on a real short shifter.

Reason being is that you lose the much needed leverage arm (due to change in fulcrum point) to shift to the next gear. Leave it at stock height.

I can vouch on that. I had one that was shorter and I will tell you, it just wouldn't work correctly, and trying to " jam " it into gears was never something I liked doing.

Yea I got a used trans that I rebuilt and it had a chopped short throw shifter on it. It was crap! I just put my C's short shifter on it. I'm lovin it!

ive also got the suprasport v3 shifter. all i have to say is that is amazing. before this i did the sogi mod and had all kinds of vibrations and trouble shifting. once i put the v3 in, all those problems went away. and its very close to stock hight.

I'm using the Sogi mod shifter with a factory shift knob and green truck bushing. I can feel the shifts alot more and no rattle vs the c's that felt kinda knochy to me and rattled some.
